Between modernity and elegance, an apartment at the summit, Courchevel
Between summit and modernity
Nestled in the legendary Courchevel 1850 neighborhood, the apartment had been reunited for the first time without any major rethinking of the overall layout.
The owners wanted to radically reorganize the space solely for their own personal needs, and to meet their comfort and aesthetic requirements.
Thus, during the project phase, numerous options were explored, discarded or retained, depending on the initial specifications.
The presence of numerous load-bearing walls made this a special exercise, as the working hypotheses were guided by fairly strong structural constraints.
Two sleeping areas, each with its own bathroom and toilet, provide comfortable spaces for each owner.
The communal living space was built around an open-plan living area, but allowing the technical elements of the kitchen not to encroach on the living room. The open kitchen was designed with a wooden partition in the fir wood chosen for the project, to hide these elements.
Noble materials have been chosen by the owners to create a timeless, mountainous and warm atmosphere. A cornice has been designed so that owners can display their paintings, and over time it will be easy to change the organization of the works on display.
Finally, a warm atmosphere was created by the choice of wool curtains and headboards. In the living room, Lyon-based Bisson Brunel was chosen for its wool and bouclette fabrics, giving the living space a cocooning atmosphere thanks to the snow color of the curtains.
The apartment’s paintwork was treated with references from Ressource Peinture, Entreprise du patrimoine vivant, notably by selecting the snow finish for the walls of the living room and one of the bedrooms, and the soft, delicate pearl finish for the other bedroom. The ceiling was treated with Not Totally White, creating an incomparable cameo of white.
Thanks to the companies and craftsmen who worked on the project, Bruce, Christophe, Lionel, Adrien & Romain and their teams.
